Cleveland Barber, age 67, of Lynchburg, VA went home to be with the Lord, unexpectedly March 2, 2013.
Cleveland was born September 5, 1945. He was one of three children of the late Mary Barber and Thomas Rucker.
He was employed by the Lynchburg Foundry for 23 years and retired from G.E. Financial after 10 years of service.
Cleveland was a kind, loving and giving man to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed family gatherings, socializing with old friends and he loved listening to Oldies and Blues Music.
Cleveland leaves a legacy of love for his family and friends. Those left to reminisce and cherish fond memories are his loving wife, Mable Murphy Barber, his three daughters, Carla, Vicky and Michelle. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Justin and Le'joi all of Lynchburg. His extended family, Hugh Wrights, SR. (Connie), Jerome Wright (Phyllis), Gloria Wright and Abdule Shakir and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved and will truly miss him.
A funeral service will be held 12:30pm, Friday, March 8, 2013 at Community Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. The family is receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at 87 Federal St. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home.
